Machelen and Diegem are two small town in the surburban area of Bruxelles and they are separeted and fragmented by different types of infrastructures: highway, motorway, HRS under construction and the principal airport of Bruxelles. The competion requires a way to reconnect these towns, to create a single and share indentity, a renovation that brings green space and new projetcs for some probematic zones.

This project finds the solution into the structure of the country. The ancient road, which is the backbone of the area, creates a big mesh with the other big infrastructures and a small mesh with the local network. This mesh is like a fractal system wich involves and sets the landscape.

A new hexagonal texture and a tree belt draw macroscopically the new urban design. The project of the lightning, the water system, the parking and mobility the new buildings and amenities, follows this rule.
